River Falls Community Theatre

The River Falls Community Theatre (or RFCT, as it’s known) once again anticipates another season of performance excellence.

“Much Ado About Nothing” was the first play produced by RFCT in 1993. Since then, it’s staged several plays each year.

With a history of producing entertaining, creative performances, the local community theater is increasing the number of onstage and backstage roles it offers residents. It also shares responsibilities with other community arts organizations: UW-RF University Theater, River Falls High School Theater, and River Falls Community Arts Base (CAB).

The group is a member-driven, volunteer-run, nonprofit organization. Board members serve for a two-year term.

Annual memberships are offered for families, individuals and businesses. Membership benefits include voting rights at the annual meeting, a newsletter, special events and a listing in the season’s program.

RFCT finds its current home in the former middle school building known as the River Falls Academy at 211 N. Fremont St.

In the future, RFCT is looking to acquire its own space for both rehearsals and performances. Keep in touch for updates.

Audition notices are posted in local papers, usually one to two weeks in advance. Experience is not required. If you’re interested in volunteering in any aspect of theater (sets, lights, sound, make-up, and costumes) please contact RFCT at 425-7645, ext. 2203, or go to www.pressenter.com/~rfct or e-mail rfcommunitytheatre@gmail.com

St. Croix Valley Summer Theatre

will be on hiatus

The Theatre Faculty of SCVST have made the difficult decision to take a two-year hiatus from production of St. Croix Valley Summer Theatre due to major construction on the UW-River Falls campus. However, they want to reassure supporters that they plan to be back, beginning in the summer of 2010.

The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
